To cater the needs of fast developing fisheries sector, the College of Fisheries was established at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana in April, 2008. The College is well equipped with laboratory and field facilities to undertake teaching, research and training in fisheries for producing professionally and technically qualified manpower. The College has highly competent and experienced faculty. Appropriate field and laboratory facilities are available. The College has also been accredited by ICAR.

M.F.Sc.(Aquaculture and Fisheries Resource Management)
The curriculum of the four year degree programme (B.F.Sc.) is based on recommendations of the 4th Dean’s Committee of the ICAR and is divided into eight semesters. During the first six semesters, courses (theory and practicals) are being offered. During seventh and eighth semester students undergo Experiential Learning/Hands on training and In-Plant training respectively.
The curriculum of M.F.Sc and Ph.D is also based on ICAR recommendations. It comprises of four and six semesters respectively and cover theory and practical Project/thesis is an integral part of both the programmes.
The successful completion of B.F.Sc. and M.F.Sc. would entitle the graduates and the postgraduates for better job opportunities in India (Sate Fisheries Department, Universities, Fisheries Institute and private fisheries sector/industry) and abroad.
