Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur did her master’s and doctorate in Zoology with specialization in Fish and Fisheries from PAU, Ludhiana in 1972 and 1976 respectively. She started her career as Assistant Professor of Zoology in 1977 and served the university in various capacities before her appointment as Head of Department of Fisheries of PAU, Ludhiana in 1999 and Head of Fisheries Unit of GADVASU, Ludhiana in 2007. She has been actively involved in teaching various UG and PG courses in Zoology and Fisheries and has guided 11 M.Sc and 3 Ph.D students. She has to her credit about more than 100 publications including research papers, reviews, technical and popular articles. She has also authored a book on Introduction to Inland Fisheries, four laboratory manuals and farm bulletin on fish culture. She worked as PI/Co-PI¬ on number of adhoc projects funded by various agencies like ICAR, Department of Environment, Forests and Wildlife (Govt. of India) and Punjab Farmers Commission. She is member of editorial board of Punjab Fisheries Bulletin and many national scientific associations in the field of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur has taken over the charge of Dean, College of Fisheries, GADVASU, Ludhiana w.e.f. 23-4-2008
