KVK, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) celebrated World Water Day on 22nd March, 2018 at Government Middle School, village Fatehgarh and Shahpur, block 
Majri, SAS Nagar (Mohali). The day was celebrated under the guidance of Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director (Training), KVK, Mohali along with the KVK scientists. Teachers, students and farmers participated in this programme. He informed that the theme of this year World Water Day is “Nature for Water”. This is 25th 
in World Water Day as it was initiated in year 1993. 2.1 billion people in the world do not have access to clean and soft water. On earth, only 1% total water is available as soft water, 97% is hard water and 2 % is ice. Dr. Yashwant Singh highlighted the importance of water in our day to day life and stressed on fresh water conservation. He further stressed upon the strategies to be adopted by people to reduce, reuse and recycle the water. Dr. Parul Gupta, Assistant Professor (Home Science) emphasized on different water conservation techniques at household level. Dr. Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) discussed regarding water conservation techniques to be adopted in agriculture. Students of the school showed a keen interest towards water saving methods and ensured the KVK staff to save and judicious use of water for the future.
