The girl Cadets of NCC, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana of 1 Pb. 
R & V SQN NCC carried out an awareness drive for the Women Health Sanitation and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programmes. The cadets went to residential societies of Rishi Nagar and also interacted with young girls and ladies. Cadets told the young girls the importance of Women health and sanitation, how they can prevent themselves from various diseases if they maintain proper sanitation. They were told how the Government is promoting and providing free sanitary napkins in Government schools for promoting the concept of rural health.
The parents were also advised that they should promote their girl child and help them study as much as they want. They were made aware of the fact that girls are not less than any other gender in any field. In the Commonwealth games girls also performed very well and earned a good number of medals.
Lt. Dr. N.D. Singh, Associate NCC Officer and Dr. P.P. Dubey, Care Taker Officer accompanied the cadets and they told the cadets that Govt. of India is also laying a lot of emphasis on these two programmes so that the girl child in our society may be maximum benefitted. They motivated the NCC cadets to aware the people living near their native place and motivate them for sanitation health.
