KVK, S.A.S Nagar organized one day refresher course on Nutrition in Pregnancy and Lactation for anganwadi workers at KVK, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali). This course was organized under the 
supervision of Dr. Yashwant Singh (Deputy Director), KVK (Mohali). Twenty one extension officials (Anganwadi workers) participated in this refresher course. The objective of this course was to refresh the knowledge of in-service officials regarding importance of nutrition in pregnancy and lactation. Dr. Yashwant Singh gave an inaugural speech and emphasized on the role of balanced diet in our body. Dr. Shashi Pal focused on role of 
minerals in pregnancy. Course Incharge, Dr. Parul Gupta delivered lectures on Importance of nutrition, nutritional needs and diet planning and preparation of low cost nutritious recipes for pregnant and lactating women. Dr. Mandeep Sharma (KVK, Rupnagar) stressed upon maternal nutrition after pregnancy. Dr. Yashwant Singh also requested participants to guide the pregnant and lactating women regarding the same in their areas of work. He delivered certificates among participants and thanked District Programme Officer (ICDS, SAS Nagar) and all participants for their presence and making the programme a success.
