Cabinet Minister S. Sidhu announces Rs. 5 Lakhs grant for Vet Varsity

S. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Cabinet Minister, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Department announced five lakhs grant from his discretionary fund to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana for the promotion of cultural activities of the students. He was chief guest at concluding function of 9th youth festival of GADVASU. He lauded the efforts of students during the youth fest. He said that extra-curricular activities are essential part of our education system. He was very impressed after witnessing different events in the function. In his address he also recollected his studentship days and told that this is golden period of life. He congratulated all the winners for their achievements and motivated others to perform in a better manner. He said that victory and debacle are two sides of the same coin, so one should focus on hard work to see the heights of life.

On this development Dr. Amarjit Singh Nanda, Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU said that this was a very positive gesture of S. Sidhu that he acknowledged the hard work of students. He said that institute is striving its best for strengthening the talent of students. He revealed that after emancipation of GADVASU this is first time that minister accorded a gift to the institute in this shape for patting the creativity of the students.

Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students Welfare informed that number of students in our university is very less in comparison to other conventional universities but our achievements are very high in that ratio. He applauded the students that they showcased their dexterity in such a good manner that as chairman of the youth festival team he himself is feeling delighted.
