A two day lecture series was organized by SC/ST Cell of the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana in the Department of Vety. Physiology & Biochemistry for students 
and faculty. Dr. Shashi Nayyar, Sr. Biochemist & Head of the department informed that Dr. Kiran Walia, a Psychologist from MGN College of Education, Jalandhar sensitized the students towards gender issues prevailing in the society. She educated the students regarding the assessment of their emotional well being and the importance of sharing, cooperation and coordination in generating happiness. Dr. Ajay Shahi, a leading dental practitioner and Ex President Dental Association imparted knowledge about the importance of oral health in one’s personality and gave tips for prevention of dental problems. Dr. Sanjeev Uppal, Prof. & Head, Department of Plastic Surgery, DMC & Hospital, Ludhiana delivered a very impressive talk on the execution of first aid in road accidents. He emphasized that a timely help to an accident 
victim can save a precious life. Dr. Rajesh Jindal, Chairman SC/ST Cell told that all the lectures were accompanied by interesting activities depicting the theme of the lectures. In future more lectures will be arranged on issues related role of youth in our society. Dr. Nayyar said that these types of activities will help in improving the personality and mental makeup of the students.
