Veterinary College Students motivated to join Armed Forces

May 31

The final year students of College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana were motivated to join the Armed forces through a lecture presented by serving Army personnel M.C. Yadav, an alumnus of this college who commissioned into Indian Army four years back.
He interacted with the students of internship and motivated them to chase their dreams with dedication and hard work. He enlightened the students that they can join Remount Veterinary Corps and girls can opt for Common Defence Services exam. He also guided them that the NCC “C” certificate holders can directly appear in Services Selection Board (SSB) interview to get entry into the armed forces. By joining the armed forces, the students can achieve bright future, respect and a handsome salary also. He told the students that even if they leave army after Short Service Commission, they will be eligible for Ex-servicemen quota benefits and they can easily get through State Civil Services exams and may earn a respected position in civil establishments also.
Mr. Yadav also told that in addition to Indian Army there are other options like Paramilitary forces, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), where Veterinarians can get in and can serve the Armed forces. The other avenues were also discussed like MBA, Higher education, Scientists in ICAR, ICMR, Private establishments etc.
The students interacted with him and cleared their doubts, which was quite helpful to them. In the end Drs. N.D. Singh and P.P. Dubey thanked the resource person for sparing his time and coming to Veterinary College to motivate the Internship students regarding the career in armed forces.
