KVK Mohali organizes Crop Residue Management programme for College students
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mohali conducted Crop Residue Management (CRM) programme under the supervision of Deputy Director, Dr Yashwant Singh at Shaheed Udham Singh College of Research and Technology, Tangori with theme “ In-situ crop residue management”. Dr. Harmeet Kaur guided the participants regarding ill effect of residue burning. She also shared her views regarding integrated pest management and Organic Farming. Dr. Priyanka Suryavanshi explained the importance of agricultural machinery for In-situ crop residue management. Dr Munish Sharma emphasized the importance of crop residues in horticulture crops. Dr Shashi pal emphasized the paddy residue incorporation in the livestock feed and reduce the shortage of dry fodder condition for the animals.
During the programme, different competitive activities were organized by College authorities. A large number of students were participated in these competitions like Extempore, Poster making, Model preparation on the theme of CRM. In the concluding session KVK team thanked college administration Dr Hanavjot Kaur (Principal), Dr Amarjit Singh, Faculty members and other supporting staff for making this programme a success. The participants were also awarded for their contributed efforts during the event.
