Musical events held at Veterinary Varsity Youth Festival

The 9th inter college youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana entered in second phase with stage events. Dr. AS Nanda, Vice-Chancellor, formally inaugurated the youth festival. Sh. Binay K. Jha, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax was Guest of Honour Dr. Nanda said that youth festival is a unique rendezvous for students to show their artistic talents. The education of professional degrees is very tough and tiring so students find very less time for cultural activities. Sh. Jha also recollected his studentship days. He motivated students to contribute their services for the betterment of the society. It is pertinent to mention that several new initiatives have been launched in income tax office of Ludhiana with motivation of Sh. Jha. A vertical garden has been installed on the office walls by utilizing discarded plastic bottles. He also initiated a campaign 'Ek Rishta School se Sarhad Tak'. In this campaign school students sent 45,000 cards to the soldiers of armed forces, He is also brain behind campaign 'Slum to Scholar',  a scheme to provide education to around 35,000 children of slums of Ludhiana.  He congratulated the winners and participants of the events and encouraged them to participate with more energy and enthusiasm. The day was of Light Vocal and Group Songs (Indian and Patriotic). Stage performances are now performed in the open air theater PAU.

Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students Welfare told that in today’s event all the three colleges at campus named College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology, College of Fisheries, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani participated alongwith affiliated college Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Amritsar. He said that students are very talented and we are giving them more opportunities to perform at higher stages. The various committees constituted for the organization of the youth festival worked very hard for its success.

Dr. N K Sood, President, Dance, Drama and Music Club said that Mime, Quiz, Skit, One act play, Mono acting and Mimicry would be performed tomorrow at 10.00 a.m in the morning. The venue will remain same, Open Air Theatre PAU.
