Dr. P S Tanwar, Associate Director (Training) KVK, Barnala graced the occasion and in his address he urged the farmers for soil testing at KVK, Barnala and follow the recommendation for fertilizers application in crops. He also said that we should aware about soil health and emphasis on profound importance of soil for human life. On this occasion Dr. Suryendra Singh Assistant Professor (Agronomy) explained about the soil sampling method and educate the farmers about crucial role of soil in farming. Dr. K S Mathrau Assistant Professor (Plant Protection) spoke about insect-pest and rodents control in wheat crop sown with Happy Seeder. Dr. Harjot Singh Sohi Assistant Professor (Horticulture) discussed about soil sampling for orchards and mushroom production technologies. Dr, Kulvinder Singh Sandhu Assistant Professor (LPM) informed about the employment opportunities in poultry farming. Dr. Anjuly Sharma Assistant Professor (Home Science) discussed about the value addition of vegetables and fruits. Queries from the farmers were also answered by the scientists during this programme. An exhibition was also laid out by the KVK to showcase the technologies to the farmers.
