Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) celebrated International Women’s day at village Rattangarh 
Simbal under the guidance of Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, KVK, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali). Dr. Yashwant Singh welcomed the women presented in the occasion and discussed about the importance of International Women’s Day. He emphasized on the importance of education of girl child which ultimately leads to financial stability and social recognition of the women. This will also avoid gender biasness existing in the present society. Dr. Parul Gupta, Assistant Professor (Home Science) emphasized on the health status of women which she totally ignores while performing the dual responsibilities at home and work place. She focused upon the importance of Balanced diet and food pyramid in women’s health. Dr. Priyanka Suryavanshi discussed on equality of women in all spheres of life viz: social, economical and political. The scenario has changed very rapidly and women prove her presence in all fields. On this occasion, Dr. Vikas Phulia discussed about the supporting courses organized especially for women by KVK, SAS Nagar (Mohali). In the conclusion, feedback from participants was also taken to assess their role in decision making in family and society as a whole.
