01 September 2017 - "Gardeners Training" for farmers by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mohali

Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mohali of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana organized One week vocational training on horticulture entitled “Gardeners training” w.e.f 23.08.2017 to 29.08.2017 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A. S. Nagar (Mohali). Sixteen progressive farmers and rural youth took part in this training programme. Dr Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor Horticulture (Training Incharge) delivered lecture and practical exposure on various techniques of growing various fruit crops in kitchen gardens as well as in orchard. He discussed about various techniques of orchard planting, layout methods, various propagation techniques like budding and grafting and training and pruning. He discussed about various production related problems and gave their solutions. Dr Yashwant Singh Deputy Director (Training) motivated farmers for fruit plants production and asked them to adopt crop diversification. He also discussed about various schemes of KVK. Dr Priyanka Suryavanshi gave lecture on vermicompost and vermiwash preparation and organic farming. Dr Harmeet Kaur shared information on plant protection in fruit crops. Progressive farmers Nirmal Singh, Pal Singh, Ajaib Singh and others shared their experiences with the participants and thanked KVK faculty for this training programme.
