05 February 2018 - NCC Cadet Vikas Garg of GADVASU Bring Laurels at National Level in Republic Day Camp

Vikas Garg, a 3rd year Bachelor of  Veterinary Sci. & Animal Husbandry student of College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana won a Gold Medal in Tent Pegging Competition at Republic Day camp which was held at New Delhi during Republic Day celebrations. Vikas is a cadet of 1 Pb. R&V SQN NCC, GADVASU, Ludhiana at the camp, where he competed with the riders of 17 other directorates from all over India. Dr. Nitin, NCC Incharge of GADVASU revealed that Vikas is a very hard working student who is always eager to learn. Such was zeal in Vikas that sometimes he even used to start at 4:00AM from his hometown Khanna to reach in ground at 5:30 Am, so that he doesn’t miss his riding classes. At last his hard work paid off when he won gold medal.  Inspite of his hectic schedule in a professional degree course he pursued his dream of riding the horse. Apart, from Vikas, two more cadets of the college Prabhdeep Singh and Perry Sharma also participated in the Republic Day Camp. These all three cadets took part in various equestrian events and also were part of the contingent of horse riders in Prime Minister’s Rally.
