23 February 2012 - Vet Varsity Sports Contingent Wins Gold in Table- Tennis
A 42 member sports contingent of GADVASU participated in 13th All India Inter-Agricultural Universities Sports and Games Meet held at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola (Maharashtra) from 16-19 February 2011-12.
Sportspersons of the university showed their vigor in different events. Men Table Tennis team comprising of Gurwinder Singh, Gaurav Sharma and Harwinder Singh won Gold medal by beating Karnataka Veterinary, Animal Sciences and Fisheries University, Bidar in the finals.
The Basketball team of GADVASU won the Silver medal. The 4x100mt Men Relay team comprising of Rajandeep, Daljitpal Singh, Ravinder Singh Chahal, Gurjot Singh and Sonikvir Singh won Bronze medal. Mr. Ishab Poudel, won bronze medal in discuss throw event. 42 Universities from all over India took part in this prestigious tournament.
Dr. P.N.Dwivedi, Dr. A.P.S. Brar and Mrs. Nidhi Sharma, accompanied the team as managers.
Dr. S.P.S. Sangha, Director Students Welfare-cum-Estate Officer congratulated the winners and the participants.
