25 June 2012 - Thanks giving prayer by first batch of two colleges of Vet Varsity
Bhog of Sri Akhand path of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji was solmenised at Guru Anagd Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. It was in connection with the completion of degrees of the first batch of College of Dairy Science & Technology and College of Fisheries. Both the Colleges were established in the university in year 2008. The Colleges were started to meet the dearth of skilled and educated human resources in the field of dairy and fisheries in this region. The thanks giving Shri Akhand Path Sahib was started on 23rd of June which was completed today with the heart touching kirtan of holy Shabads. Community langar was served after the bhog.
In this maiden batch 20 students passed B. Tech (Dairy Sc. & Technology) and five students cleared Bachelor of fisheries Sc. It is pertinent to mention that four students of dairy science college were selected in the campus placement by different companies. Two students got cleared in ICAR- JRF examination, 2012. Both the students’ secured high ranks in prestigious All India Entrance Examination for Admission to Post Graduate Programme which is also known as ICAR- JRF Examination conducted every year by ICAR, New Delhi. From college of fisheries one student got selected through Campus interview for the post of Area Sales Officer, Aquaculture division of M/s Neospark Drugs and Chemicals Private limited, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Two of the student had cleared JRF test conducted by ICAR for M.F.Sc. degree programme. Rests of the two students are also interested to go for M.F.Sc.
Dr. S.P.S. Sangha, Dean of the dairy college and Dr. Asha Dhawan, Dean, college of fisheries expressed their happiness on the achievement of the students. They said that though both the colleges were new which were established in the year 2008, even then students were bringing laurels to the colleges not only in academics but also in sports and cultural events at national level.
On this occasion a large number of devotees from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, PAU and outsiders from campus paid their respect. Employees, teachers and students of university contributed their service with tan, man and dhan in the akhand path.
