01 August 2012 - Vet varsity introduces mandatory course on “Environment Education and Road Safety”

           The Academic Council of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, under the chairmanship of  Dr. V. K. Taneja,  Vice-Chancellor, approved the introduction of “Environment Education and Road Safety”, a non-credit course, while keeping in view the urgency of awareness regarding environment and road safety measures among the students. The course has been kept mandatory for the award of degree for all the undergraduate students of the University. Registrar GADVASU, Dr. P.D. Juyal said, “With the introduction of this course students will be provided knowledge about degrading environment and its health hazards and will put a check on unwanted road incidents.” Both the components in curriculum are important for the young people. The course comprises of 70 marks for Environment Education and 30 marks for Road Safety.

                The said course will be offered to the first year students in the first semester of the academic session 2012-13.
