Established Pesticide Residue Analysis Lab in department. Multiple Residue Analysis techniques for pesticides were standardized for food of animal origin and animal feed. A comprehensive study was undertaken to ascertain the levels of pesticides in milk and milk products, pork, goat meat, chicken, fish eggs, meat products poultry and animal feed. The research paper presented on pesticide residues has been awarded six best paper awards in poster sessions in various conferences.

Generated awareness on human brucellosis among veterinarians, veterinary pharmacists and animal handlers and more than 3000 human serum samples were tested in department laboratory, with joint effort of other Punjab Veterinary Council. Molecular diagnostic techniques for diagnosis of brucellosis are standardized.

Worked on important parasitic zoonotic diseases prevalent in the state viz. cysticercosis cryptosporidiosis, sarcocystosis, of public health significance.

A comprehensive study has been carried on food borne pathogens and their toxins viz. Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp, E.coli, Bacillus cereus, Yesinia spp. to study their epidemiology and zoonotic significance. Extensive studies were also carried out to develop molecular diagnostics for detection of shiga-toxin producing E. coli (STEC) in meat by multiplex polymerase chain reaction, Aeromonas species and Brucella species. STEC isolates have also been characterized for their resistance genes which were later on sequenced also.
