Pitchquest 2.0 at Vet Varsity Draws Global Experts and Investors

The Vety and Livestock Innovation and Incubation Foundation (VLIIF), a Section 8 company of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University , Ludhiana organized Pitchquest 2.0, bringing together international experts, investors, and promising startups on a common platform.
Dr. R. S. Sethi, Director, VLIIF, shared that the event was designed to promote entrepreneurship in the veterinary and allied sectors and to provide innovators an opportunity to present their ideas before mentors and funding agencies. The programme witnessed the presence of eminent global leaders including Prof. Klaus Osterrieder, President, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany; Dr. Baljit Singh, Vice President Research, University of Saskatchewan, Canada; Dr. Alix Hayden, Director, Innovation Mobilization & Partnerships, University of Saskatchewan; and Dr. Munish Jindal, Director General, LUCR8 Ventures.
Dr. R. S. Grewal, Director of Extension Education, highlighted that such initiatives are vital for strengthening innovation-driven growth in veterinary and livestock sectors. He reiterated the University’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs through mentorship and incubation support. Dr. Alix Hayden appreciated the proactive efforts of VLIIF, noting that innovation and collaboration are central to economic growth and sustainable development. Prof. Klaus Osterrieder encouraged startups to focus on research-driven, scalable solutions capable of addressing global challenges. Dr. Munish Jindal underlined the significance of strategic investor engagement and sustainable business models, while Dr. Baljit Singh stressed the importance of international collaboration in building strong research and innovation ecosystems.
The Chief Guest, Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor, stated that universities have a pivotal role in catalyzing entrepreneurship and called upon all stakeholders to work collectively towards developing solutions for real-world problems.
Iqbalpreet Kaur Sidhu, CEO, VLIIF, informed that startups pitched their ideas before investors from Ekara Financials, IBSE (Amritsar Chapter), SROT, Punjab Angels Network, Black Leo Ventures, and GX Ventures Pvt. Ltd., who appreciated the innovations and provided valuable feedback Dr. Sunil Kumar extended the vote of thanks.
