
The members of the Board of Management (BOM) of Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU), Bidar, visited Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana to explore the university’s academic, research, extension and infrastructural facilities.
The visiting delegation comprised Sh. Sangamesh D. Walikar, Dr. H. M. Jayaprakash, Sh. Basavaraj P. Bhatmurge and Dr. Venkatachala V.S, BOM, KVAFSU. They were accompanied by Dr. C. K. Prasad, Assistant Professor, LFC and Sh. Rahul D., Executive Engineer.
The delegation interacted with Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor and was apprised of the major activities, achievements and initiatives of the university in the fields of veterinary education, research, extension and allied sciences.
During their visit, the delegation visited the Multi-Specialty Veterinary Hospital, Dairy Farm, Fisheries Farm, Experimental Dairy Plant, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, College of Animal
Biotechnology and Centre for One Health. The members interacted with faculty and scientists and gained insights into the functioning and activities of these facilities.
The members appreciated the state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern facilities, advanced research and diagnostic capabilities and practical training facilities. They particularly appreciated the university’s integrated approach towards veterinary, dairy, fisheries, biotechnology and One Health education and research.
The visit provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices and is expected to further strengthen academic and institutional collaboration between both the institutes.
