Teaching and Other Appointments

  • My teaching interests encompass both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Animal Nutrition, with emphasis on integrating scientific principles with practical livestock feeding strategies. My areas of specialization include ruminant nutrition, dairy cattle nutrition, feed evaluation, ration formulation, nutrient metabolism, feed additives, mycotoxin management, and precision livestock nutrition. I am particularly interested in teaching transition nutrition, nutritional management for enhanced productivity, feed quality evaluation, and sustainable feeding practices using conventional and non-conventional feed resources. My teaching approach focuses on interactive, outcome-based learning through lectures, practical demonstrations, case studies, and problem-solving approaches. I aim to develop students analytical thinking, research skills, and professional competence, preparing them to solve practical problems in animal nutrition and livestock production.

Area of Research Interests

  • My research interests focus on improving livestock health, productivity, and sustainability through advanced nutritional interventions. My primary areas of interest include ruminant nutrition, feed evaluation, ration formulation, precision livestock nutrition, feed additives, and mycotoxin management. My postgraduate research focused on reducing aflatoxin M1 contamination in milk using dietary aflatoxin detoxifying agents in dairy cattle. I am interested in developing safe and cost-effective nutritional strategies to enhance feed efficiency, animal performance and milk quality. I am also keen to investigate nutritional approaches for improving animal health, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing the productivity and profitability of livestock farming through evidence-based research and collaboration with industry and farmers.
