Teaching and Other Appointments

  • Actively involved in teaching of Veterinary Parasitology course for undergraduate students.  Previously was also involved with master’s and doctoral teaching and research of Veterinary Parasitology. Research interest involves molecular parasitology, parasite phylogenetics and diagnostics for parasitic diseases with special interest on haemoprotozoan diseases. Have handled 11 projects from funding agencies like RKVY, NIF-DST, etc in various capacities.

  • Presently acting as Incharge Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Incharge Print and Media Cell and Member College Disciplinary Committee.
  • Have previous administrative exposure of posts like Assistant Director Research (ADR), Hostel Warden, University Transport Officer (TO), Member University Management Committee (UMC), coordinator of various activities under IDP-NAHEP and scientist Covid-19 testing laboratory, Mathura.
  • Life member of Indian Science Congress (ISP).
  • Life member of Indian Association for Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (IAAVP).

  • Member of Punjab State Veterinary Council.

Area of Research Interests

  • Host-parasite interactions with special emphasis on theileriosis.
  • Epidemiological mapping of parasitic infection in and around Punjab using molecular, serological and conventional methods.
  • Molecular phylogenetics of parasites.
  • Resistance in parasites against antiparasitic drugs.
