The views were revealed by Dr. J S Bhatti, Professor cum Head Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education. He said in the continuation of the same, the Department organized two day specialized dairy farming training programme for the farmers of Madhya Pradesh in which 18 trainees were participated. The trainees were apprised with the scientific management aspects, balanced feeding, importance of mineral mixture, reproductive management, shelter management, seasonal management, calf care, first aid etc. Dr Bhatti revealed that feed play an important role in dairy farming profitability as it alone accounts for 65-70 % of the total cost incurred on the milk production. We cannot afford to increase the population of animals, as country is having around 16% animals of world, but we can definitely improve the performance of our animals through these recommended advanced practices in dairy farming. Dr H K Verma and Dr Udeybir Singh were the technical coordinators of this specialized training programme.
