Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized a free animal welfare and treatment camp at adopted village Baroudi. More than fifty farmers participated in this camp and around 200 animals treated on the spot by experts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. Dr. Randhir Singh, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production, gave information about control and treatment of Mastitis, endo and ecto-parasites in animals, whereas Dr. Bilawal Singh and Dr. Rahul Udhian provided a brief insight about reproductive diseases of animals and various surgical conditions in animals, respectively. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, provided a brief insight about working and mandates of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) and encouraged farmers to manage their dairy animals properly during summers season and participate whole heartdly in such camps. Apart from this KVK experts also encouraged farmers to use wheat straw for feeding animals after its urea treatment and discourage them from burning it. After brief lectures, various cases of Surgery, Gyanecology and Medicine were treated on the spot by experts. Dr. Vikas Phulia, Assistat Professor (Fisheries) also assisted in the organization of this camp. At the end of this camp Dr. Yashwant Singh informed farmers about more such camps by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) in near future.
