KVK Mohali organizes one week vocational training on bakery products
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized one week vocational training on “Development of value added products through baking” at village Sahauran under the guidance of Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director (Training) from 22-05-2019 to 28-05-2019. 19 farm women participated in this training programme. Dr. Yashwant Singh inaugurated the one week training programme and gave a detailed lecture on ‘Value addition of cereals and millets for entrepreneurship development’. Dr. Parul Gupta, Assistant Professor (Home Science) conducted this training programme and encouraged farm women to adopt baking technology as a profession as it is the need of the hour and attract good number of costumers also. She demonstrated the functions and use of OTG (Oven Toaster and Griller) and Microwave for baking. Various value added products of cereals and millets were demonstrated to the participants. Products like Cakes, breads, brownie, muffins, cookies and biscuits were prepared. At the last day of training, feedback was also taken from participants. Participants were pleased with the training programme and thanked the KVK faculty and assured them to cooperate in such training programmes in future. They also requested KVK staff to organize long duration training programmes in these subjects.
