Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran organized a village level awareness camp for 
managing the crop residue and water conservation at village Thattian Khurad on 26.08.2019. Total 80 farmers participated in this village level camp. Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Deputy Director, KVK Tarn Taran urged farmers to save natural resources such as soil, water and air from deterioration. Farmers were awared for recent techniques to save water and environment. Scientific techniques for In-situ management of crop residue with the machinery were told to the farmers. Navjot Singh Brar, Assistant Professor also encouraged farmers for not put extra fertilizers and pesticides in the paddy crop. Dr Anil Kumar, Assistant Prof. Soil Science explained ill effects of 
crop residue on soil fertility and productivity. Crops requiring less water and irrigation water saving techniques such as drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation and use of rain gun in fruit trees were explained. Pamphlets giving information related to crop residue and management water conservation were distributed free to the farmers. Farmers purchased university books, mineral mixture, uromin licks, bypass fat etc from KVK stall. Crop residue management machinery such as Happy seeder and mulcher and MB plough was displayed at this event
