
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Booh, Tarn Taran, organized Parthenium Awareness Week to spread awareness about the serious
environmental and health hazards posed by Parthenium, an aggressive invasive weed threatening agriculture and biodiversity. The campaign witnessed a series of impactful activities, including awareness camps, expert lectures, distribution of informative material, and hands-on training sessions on Parthenium identification and eradication.

ated weed management practices, emphasizing its harmful effects on crop productivity, livestock, and human health. Dr. R.S. Grewal, Director of Extension Education, called for greater community involvement and sustained efforts to check the spread of this toxic weed using eco-friendly control methods.
Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, commended KVK Booh’s initiative and stressed the importance of collaborative action at the grassroots level to tackle such ecological threats.
The events were efficiently coordinated by Dr. Navjot Singh Brar and saw enthusiastic participation from farmers, students, and local residents. The program successfully strengthened awareness and encouraged proactive measures to curb the spread of Parthenium in the region.
