TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.”
TEDx events are designed to bring communities together to share knowledge and spark meaningful conversations through talks delivered by speakers from varied backgrounds. Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, made history by organizing TEDxGADVASU, the first-ever TEDx event hosted by any veterinary university in India. By hosting TEDx, University has joined a worldwide movement that encourages dialogue, innovation, and visionary thinking.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice Chancellor who said that “we are a mission-driven university—committed to knowledge, research, and innovation that touch lives far beyond our campus walls”. Dr Gill said that vet-varsity is recognized among the top veterinary universities of India, as it goes beyond academics by shaping students’ lives through activities that encourage leadership, creativity, and inclusivity. The campus serves as a fertile ground where diverse disciplines and cultures converge, reflecting the essence of true education. With initiatives like the Veterinary and Livestock Innovation and Incubation Foundation (VLIIF) and the Inclusive Technology Business Incubator, the university has been instrumental in nurturing startups and entrepreneurs, aligning perfectly 
with TEDx’s mission to encourage innovation and change.
Dr. Gill informed that the TEDx theme “Conscious Evolution” reflects the need for mindful growth, sustainable progress, and responsible innovation in today’s world. Dr. Gill praised the organizing team for creating a platform that fosters creativity, innovation, and dialogue. He said that by successfully hosting TEDx, the university has set a new benchmark for veterinary institutions, reaffirming its mission to nurture visionaries, innovators, and changemakers who can contribute to a more conscious and sustainable world.
Dr. R. S. Sethi, Additional Director, Research and organizer of TEDx, informed that the event held in
collaboration with MENTORx, brought together 16 distinguished speakers from diverse walks of life. He highlighted the participation of two university students, Ms. Anoushka Atri and Ms. Srishti Sharma, as speakers. Sharing the stage with eminent professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers, they showcased the confidence and leadership of the university’s young generation. Dr. Sethi appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr. Munish Jindal, Founder & CEO – HoverRobotix, Founding President – MENTORx, Dr. Nancy Juneja, Founder – RevUp, Co-Founder & CEO – MENTORx, and Dr. Payal Garg, CxO – MENTORx acknowledging their meticulous planning and contribution in successfully organizing the event. The event was attended by officers, faculty, students and invited dignitaries, who enthusiastically engaged with the talks.
