First-year vet students starts session with inspiration, exploration, and blessings

September 19

First year professional of B.V.Sc. & A.H. course at the College of Veterinary Science (Ludhiana), Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, began with an orientation lecture by Dean Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa on September 9, 2025. He introduced first-year students to the detailed academic curriculum, the College’s academic infrastructure, clinical training, digital resources, and future career prospects, emphasizing hands-on learning in veterinary education.
On 15th September, a campus tour led by Dr. Anuradha Gupta, Head of Department of Veterinary Anatomy, familiarized students with the para-clinical departments, research labs, and livestock farms. Students explored facilities in paraclinical departments (Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, LPM, LPT, Animal Genetics and Breeding, and Public Health), gaining insight into scientific livestock management and diagnostics. They also visited the Multispecialty Veterinary Clinical Complex, which features advanced treatment units. Students also visited the Livestock Farm complex with farm animals and a university library with digital tools and a virtual reality lab as resources for students. Faculty members Dr. Manjinder Sharma, Dr. Kritima Kapoor, and Dr. Suresh guided them throughout, making the experience interactive and enriching. The orientation and tour helped students to connect with the campus, understand available resources, and inspired enthusiasm for their journey towards becoming skilled veterinarians.
To invoke divine blessings for the students embarking on their veterinary journey, a Sukhmani Sahib Path was held on September 17, 2025, at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, PAU, organized by the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle in collaboration with the Directorate of Students Welfare.
Dr. JPS Gill, Vice-Chancellor, commended the orientation efforts and extended a warm welcome to the first-year B.V.Sc. & A.H. students, assuring them of unwavering support and comprehensive access to all facilities essential for the program’s success
