Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized an awareness programme of PM Dhan Dhanaya Krishi Yojna at village Akalgarh. A live telecast regarding launch of “PM Dhan Dhanaya Krishi Yojna” and “six year ‘Mission of Aatma Nirbharta in Pulses’ Yojna” along with other schemes of animal husbandry, fisheries and food processing
industries etc. were also shown to the farmers/farm women during this event.
Dr. Balbir Singh Khadda guided the farmers to get maximum benefits of this Yojna and other central/state government schemes like Agri infrastructure fund, Natural farming, crop residue management etc. Dr Munish Sharma delivered a lecture on benefits of natural farming to the farmers. Dr Harmeet Kaur awared farmers regarding efficient utilization of crop residue. Dr Parul Gupta delivered a lecture on food processing & value addition of crops and milk products.
During this event farmers/ farm women and rural youth of village Akalgarh & other villages of the district were present. Akalgarh Sarpanch S. Gurjant Singh thanked the KVK team for organizing this programme at their village and also motivated farmers to take maximum advantage of KVK schemes to increase their income by adopting scientific crop production and dairy farming techniques.
