Thilakarathne, Senior Lecturer at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, has joined the Department of Veterinary Microbiology of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana under the prestigious India Science and Research Fellowship (DST-ISRF) programme of Department of Science and Technology..jpeg)
During her fellowship, she will work on parvoviruses of canine and porcine origin to study their prevalence and develop improved diagnostic methods that could be implemented in the field.
Dr J. P. S. Gill, Vice Chancellor, congratulated Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Professor in the host department, for initiating this collaboration and highlighted that such academic exchanges will strengthen long-term research linkages with the University of Peradeniya.
Dr P S Brar Director of Research expressed confidence that this engagement will open new avenues for joint research projects, faculty exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives between the two universities, fostering sustained scientific collaboration in the field of veterinary microbiology and animal health.
