
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, will host its annual Youth Festival from November 26 to December 5, 2025. The mega jubilant event will be conducted in two phases, showcasing the creative, cultural and intellectual talents of university students.
Dr. R.S. Aulakh, Director Students’ Welfare, said that the students are highly enthusiastic and preparing rigorously for different activities. He highlighted that Vet Varsity students have consistently excelled at various All India Agricultural & Veterinary Inter-University youth festivals, achieving top positions and trophies over the years.
Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor stated that the Youth Festival will serve as an excellent platform for students to explore new avenues and excel in extracurricular and artistic pursuits.
Dr. S.P.S. Ghuman, Organizing Secretary informed that various committees have been constituted for smooth coordination and effective management of the festival. He also shared the detailed schedule:
Phase I Events
* 26 Nov: Photography, Quiz, Shabad Gayan, Poster Making, Cartooning
* 27 Nov: On-the-Spot Painting, Clay Modeling, Collage Making
* 28 Nov: Rangoli Making, Installation, Elocution, Poetry
* 29 Nov: Creative Writing, Extempore, Debate
Turban Tying, Mehndi, Lambi Gutt, Kavishri
Phase II Events
* 03 Dec: Formal Inauguration, Folk Songs, Creative Dance (Solo), Light Vocal, Group Songs (Indian)
* 04 Dec: Theatre Events – Mime, Skit, One-Act Play, Mimicry
Ramp Walk in Punjabi Attire
* 05 Dec (Final Day): Punjabi Group Folk Dance (Female/Male) and Prize Distribution
To promote culture, heritage and language, some new activities have been planned in the Youth Festival this time. Among these activities, new competitions of different types have been organized, including Long braiding, Idiomatic conversation, Kavishri, Turban tying, Mehndi application and Ramp walk in traditional Punjabi attire. The aim of these competitions is to connect the students with their rich heritage, culture and language.
Dr. Ghuman said that the entire festival will be conducted as per the notified rules of Inter-University Youth Competitions.
Dr. Aulakh expressed hope that the festival would create a vibrant, cheerful, and enriching experience for both participants and the audience.
