
In a profound gesture of compassion and community service, Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Doraha, contributed Rs. 1,11,111/- to the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Teachers’ Association (GADVASU-TA) for the relief
and rehabilitation of dairy farmers affected by the recent floods in Punjab.
The contribution was made as part of the ongoing commemorative events marking the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, and was presented during a special program held at School of Eminence, Government School Doraha.
Representing GADVASU-TA at the event were Dr. Ravinder Singh Grewal, Dr. Parminder Singh, Dr. Kulvinder Singh, and Dr. Gurpreet Singh, who expressed deep appreciation for the Gurdwara Committee’s meaningful initiative.
The Gurdwara Committee emphasized that the donation was not merely financial assistance but an expression of seva, solidarity, and collective responsibility towards families whose homes, livestock, and livelihoods were devastated by the floods. The sangat present at the event warmly acknowledged the Gurdwara’s humanitarian effort and offered ardas for the affected families, hoping the support would help restore stability, strength, and resilience to those rebuilding their dairy-based livelihoods.
As part of the program, Dr. Ravinder Singh Grewal, Director of Extension Education also interacted with students, providing insights into various
academic programs, admission procedures, and the educational framework of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. He highlighted the university’s commitment to supporting rural communities and strengthening livestock-based economies.
Dr. Grewal also conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Committee President Master Inder Singh, General Secretary S. Jagjiwanpal Singh Gill, and Committee Members S. Rajinder Singh Khalsa, S. Bhupinder Singh Oberoi, S. Daljeet Singh, and S. Gurdeep Singh for their dedication and cooperative spirit.
Reflecting the values of Sikh tradition, S. Jagjiwanpal Singh Gill, General Secretary of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Doraha, stated:
