The Centre for One Health at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, will host an International Symposium on “Advancing One Health: Concept to Action for Promoting Human, Animal & Environmental Health” alongside the XXI Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialists (IAVPHS) on 11–12 December 2025.
This two-day event is expected to bring together over 200 scholars, researchers, scientists, and professionals from across India, representing the fields of public health, veterinary sciences, environmental studies, and related disciplines. The symposium aims to transform the One Health concept into practical action, emphasizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental well-being in tackling modern health challenges.
The deliberations will focus on key themes such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), food safety, biosecurity, environmental pollutants, emerging pathogens, and integrated surveillance mechanisms. The programme has been curated to encourage collaborative approaches and evidence-based strategies for strengthening health resilience at both national and global levels.
Distinguished experts from the medical, environmental, wildlife, and industrial sectors, along with leading academicians, will contribute to the discussions. The participation of international delegates from Australia, Canada, and Belgium will further enrich the dialogue with global insights and experiences.
Through this symposium, Vet Varsity reinforces its commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of scientifically grounded solutions to enhance the health of people, animals, and ecosystems. The event will include plenary lectures, panel discussions, scientific presentations, and interactive sessions aimed at translating the One Health philosophy into effective, real-world interventions.
