In general body meeting of “Vets’ Association 1980” it was decided to constitute scholarship for economical weaker students of the College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana and the financial support will be rendered to the vets and their families at the time of need also. This important helping gesture was extended in this meeting by Dr. Narinder Singh Saini, Head Department of Surgery and radiology and President of “Vets’ Association 1980” on the behalf of said body .Dr. Narinder Singh Saini further said that the “Vets Association had decided to hold events every three years for professional interactive update.
The Batch-mates of 1980 batch of College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana has Celebrated its Silver Jubilee under the banner of “Vets Association 1980”. The celebration was attended by eminent veterinarians of this batch from USA, Canada, Australia and from various other parts of the country including Punjab. Dr. Harvinder Singh Grewal, Dr. Pritpal Singh Rangi, Dr. Ravinder Khara, Dr. Binder Sahai from USA and Dr. Baljit Singh Gill, Dr. Jaswant Singh from Canada participated in this event. The faculty members also participated in the silver jubilee celebrations. It was a gala event in which family and batch mates participated together after 25 years of passing out from the College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana.
On this occasion teachers were honoured and their contribution towards the veterinary and teaching profession were appreciated. Among teachers Dr. A.S. Nanda, Director of Research, Dr. S.S. Singh, Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Ex. Deans Dr. Baxi, Dr. K.S. Roy and Dr. D.R. Sharma and many others were present. Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Chairman, said that Professor M.S. Bal, Ex. Teacher of this college now settled in USA was also present on this occasion.
