Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana is going to organize Alumni Meet on 18th November 2023. The event will start at 9:00 a.m. at Open Air Theatre, PAU. Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Director of Students’ Welfare cum Estate Officer and Convener of Alumni Meet said that alumni of all colleges, College of Veterinary Science, College of Fisheries, College of Dairy Science and Technology and College of Animal Biotechnology as well as faculty and students will participate. S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development and Food Processing, Government of Punjab will be the chief guest of this event and inaugurate the Alumni Meet, and Examination and Lecture halls. Dr. Navin Kumar Jain, National Coordinator (Institutional Development Plan) will be the Guest of Honour and Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, Vet Varsity will preside over the function.
Dr Ghuman said that the students who have graduated from this university are serving in Animal Husbandry Department, Fisheries Department, Dairy Development Board, Cooperative Department, Universities and many other national and international institutions, and have been performing well in their respective fields. He also mentioned that the alumni from India and abroad who work and live in different places, have a desire to see their old friends, and this meet would provide them the opportunity to spend time and share their old memories. Not only do they meet each other in this one long day celebration, but also showcase their talents. They would also take part in various recreational fun games. A colorful cultural program will also be presented by the students of the university.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor said that Alumni Meet is a wonderful platform for a get together. Such events provide us to think about the journey we have travelled, the role played by our friends and mentors in this journey as well as to realise about significant achievements we have made for our community. He said that this event would also encourage and advise each of us to exchange our ideas and innovate for the upliftment of the society in the future. He hoped that a large number of alumni would participate and enjoy the day to the fullest. He personally urged that on November 18, 2023, the alumni must take time out of their busy schedule to attend the Alumni Meet, as it will be a wonderful experience.
