Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana is going to hold its fourth Convocation on 06th March, 2024 at Pal Auditorium, PAU campus, Ludhiana. Varsity will confer degrees, merit certificates and gold medals to the students of Ph.D., Master and Bachelor programmes of all the constituent colleges of the university who will complete their degrees till March 05, 2024.
Dr HS Banga, Registrar told that convocation will be presided over by Sh. Banwarilal Purohit His Excellency, Governor of Punjab-cum-Chancellor of the University. Dr O. P. Chaudhary, Joint Secretary, National Livestock Mission, Government of India will be the Guest of Honour. Governor of Punjab-cum-Chancellor of the University has approved the award of Honorary Degree to Dr DVR Prakash Rao, President of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, New Delhi on the recommendation of Board of Management and Academic Council of the university for his remarkable contribution in the field of veterinary sciences.
A total of 256 students will be conferred degrees who have successfully completed their programme of studies. This will include 39 PhD, 25 Masters, 91 B.V.Sc & A.H. 62 B.Tech (Dairy Technology), 21 B.Tech. (Animal Biotechnolgy) and 18 B.F.Sc. degrees. A total of 06 gold medals in B.V.Sc & A.H, B. F. Sc., B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) and B. Tech. (Biotechnolgy) shall also be awarded to the meritorious students for their performance in their respective programme.
All eligible students have been intimated individually by post and will have to submit their consent to attend the convocation in the requisite proforma through email gadvasuconvocation2024@gmail.com said Dr Banga. The students will have to assemble for rehearsal on 05th March, 2024 at 9.30 AM in the Pal Auditorium, the details of which are available on university's website www.gadvasu.in.
Dr Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University said that it has become a regular feature of the university to hold convocation every year. He extended his best wishes to the successful candidates and advised them to serve the society in the larger interest of our country's progress.
