The Vet Varsity Commemoration Week to mark the upcoming National Fish Farmers Day on 10th July, 2025, continued with great
zeal for the 3rd day, capturing public attention to fish as a highly nutritious and healthy food choice. The graduating fisheries professionals of College of Fisheries, 
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University visited schools and local markets to popularize Fish as a Health Food among different age groups and social communities. The activities aimed to showcase solidarity with fish farmers, fisher folks and the concerned stakeholders, with a message to Eat Fish for Health- Rear Fish for Wealth. After the said public awareness, the commemoration week will enter into its 2nd phase of felicitation of dedicated fish farmers, fishers and fish traders playing vital role in food/nutritional security, employment generation and economic development, through their assorted contributions to sustainable growth of the fisheries value chain at regional level.
