Vet Varsity Scientists Bag National-Level Best Article Awards

Two scientists from the Centre for One Health, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, Dr. Deepthi Vijay and Dr. Kriti Singh, have been honoured with the “Best Article Award – Certificate of Excellence in Article Writing” in the Faculty category of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at the National-Level Article Writing Competition organized by the Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala.
Dr. Deepthi Vijay has been awarded for her insightful article titled “From Farm Gates to Global Health: Leveraging Biosecurity to Tackle Antimicrobial Resistance”. The article emphasizes the critical role of farm-level biosecurity in reducing antimicrobial use, preventing zoonotic transmission, and advancing the One Health approach. It highlighted how integrated preventive measures can significantly mitigate antimicrobial resistance threats at both local and global levels. 
Dr. Kriti Singh was awarded for her comprehensive review article “Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) in Food Microbiology: A Comprehensive Review”. The paper provided an in-depth overview of LAMP technology as a rapid, sensitive, and field-deployable diagnostic tool for ensuring food safety and quality. Both award-winning articles will be featured in the forthcoming prestigious publication 'Frontiers in Veterinary Medicine: Advanced Diagnostics, Therapies and One Health Strategies'.
Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor appreciated the scientists for bringing laurels to the university and commended their contributions in advancing research and awareness in the domains of One Health, biosecurity, and veterinary diagnostics. This recognition further reinforces the University’s national leadership in transdisciplinary One Health research and its steadfast commitment to addressing emerging health challenges through innovative science, policy engagement, and collaborative approaches. 
Dr. J.S. Bedi, Director, Centre for One Health, congratulated the awardees and highlighted that their achievements reflect the growing academic and research excellence of the Centre in promoting One Health-based innovations and intersectoral collaboration.
