
A team of researchers from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, has achieved a notable international milestone, with their scholarly work being recognized among the Top 10 Most Cited Articles in the reputed journal
'Science in One Health' an Elsevier publication. In recognition of this achievement, the authors have been conferred with a “Certificate of High Citation Impact” by the journal.
The award has been jointly presented to Dr. Manjeet Sharan, Dr. Deepthi Vijay, Dr. Jay Prakash Yadav, Dr. Jasbir Singh Bedi, and Dr. Pankaj Dhaka for their article titled “Surveillance and response strategies for zoonotic diseases: a comprehensive review”. The article has attracted substantial global attention, receiving more than 100 citations within a year, highlighting its strong academic influence and relevance in advancing the One Health framework.
The study presents an integrated and comprehensive synthesis of surveillance systems, early warning mechanisms, and coordinated response strategies for zoonotic diseases, with a strong emphasis on the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. By effectively bridging evidence across multiple disciplines, the publication has emerged as a key reference for researchers, policymakers, and public health professionals worldwide.
Dr. J. P. S.
