The meeting’s agenda was to review the activities conducted by KVK in the preceding year and decide upon the action plan of KVK for the year 2026-27. The meeting began with the welcome of the guests and inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Balbir Singh Khadda, Deputy Director, KVK, Mohali. He appraised the house about the action taken report against the suggestions given during the SAC meeting held in the previous year. The annual progress report of 2025-26 and action plan (2026-27) of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mohali was presented by Dr. Munish Sharma, Asstt. Prof. (Horticulture). Worthy Director of Extension Education urged the committee members for the active participation and valuable suggestions for the action plan in order to strengthen the functioning of KVK. He also asked the invited experts from different line- departments and progressive farmers to provide innovative ideas pertaining to agri- and allied activities for their inclusion in the action plan..JPG)
Dr. Grewal emphasized upon more awareness regarding rearing of goat and sheep and promotion of cost-effective technologies to enhance farmers’ income. He specifically highlighted the role of animal husbandry-based farming activities under integrated farming system for enhancing farmers’ income.
This meeting was attended by Dr. Gurmel Singh (Chief Agriculture Officer), Dr. Udeybir Singh (Professor), Dr. Mandeep Singla (Professor), Dr. Satbir Singh (Deputy Director, KVK Ropar), Sh. M. K. Bhardwaj (LDM), Mohali, Dr. Harinder Singh (Senior Veterinary Officer), Ms. Hardeep Kaur (Assistant Director Fisheries, S.A.S. Nagar), Mr. Gurdial Kumar (ADO, Mohali), Dr. Kulwinder Singh (Assistant Professor), Dr. Raminder Singh Ghuman (DES, Mohali) and progressive farmers S. Bhupinder Singh, S. Jagdeep Singh, S. Harjinder Singh, S. Manjinder Singh, Smt. Anjana likhyani etc. and faculty members from KVK Mohali. An exhibition was also put up where value added products prepared by progressive farmers were also displayed. The meeting ended with vote of thanks from Dr. Harmeet Kaur, Asstt. Prof. (Plant protection).
