Vet Varsity to Host InDeVet Summit 2026 on Bridging Science, Policy, and Education

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, is set to host the prestigious InDeVet Summit 2026 from February 23–25, 2026, bringing together eminent scientists, policymakers, academicians, and institutional leaders from India and Germany to strengthen global cooperation in veterinary science and One Health. Dr Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, informed that the InDeVet initiative represents an outstanding partnership of excellence, bringing together three leading German universities—Leipzig University, the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, and Freie Universität Berlin—and four premier Indian institutions—Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna. Dr Gill said that the Summit themed “Bridging Science, Policy, and Education,” will serve as an important platform to foster international collaboration, promote joint research initiatives, and develop strategic partnerships aimed at addressing emerging challenges such as zoonotic diseases, food safety, antimicrobial resistance, and sustainable livestock development. The summit will serve as a key platform to review ongoing collaborations and chart a roadmap for future joint initiatives. Dr R S Sethi, Organizing Secretary of the summit and Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology informed that the summit will be graced by 12 eminent scientists from premier veterinary institutes of Germany, 5 distinguished scientists from leading institutions in Canada, and more than 20 experts from various national veterinary and research institutes across India. Their participation reflects the growing international engagement and collaborative spirit aimed at addressing global challenges in animal health, public health, and food safety.
