Vet Varsity Holds Indo-Korean Training on Intermittent Hemodialysis

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, has scripted a historic chapter in global veterinary clinical education by successfully organizing the 5-Day Indo–Korean Advanced Hands-On Training-cum-Workshop on Intermittent Hemodialysis Techniques in Dogs at Dialysis Unit.
Seven veterinary practitioners from South Korea travelled to receive advanced clinical dialysis training, making this initiative a milestone in international scientific collaboration and capacity building. The training program provided an immersive experiential learning platform featuring practical case demonstrations, live clinical case discussions, hands-on dialysis procedures, interactive scientific sessions, and structured knowledge-sharing on renal replacement therapies and translational nephrology.
Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor, said, “The workshop showcased the Dialysis Unit team’s exceptional clinical expertise, technological capability, and academic leadership, making it a national and international reference center for advanced veterinary renal replacement therapies. Traditionally, advanced clinical training flowed outward, but this workshop reversed the flow, with international professionals seeking cutting-edge training in India. This reflects India’s growing global recognition of its clinical excellence and technological capability in veterinary renal replacement therapies.”
Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa, Dean of the College of Veterinary Science, informed that the workshop was part of the Experiential Learning Project supported by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The project aims to transform the Dialysis Unit into a national and international educational hub .
Dr. J. Mohindroo, Director of Clinics, called the event a major milestone to elevate clinical standards .
Dr. Randhir Singh, In-charge Dialysis Unit and training Director, whose pioneering contributions to veterinary renal replacement therapies, positioned Vet Varsity on the global veterinary nephrology education map, was supported by Dr. Rajsukhbir Singh, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Jasnit Singh, and Dr. Sachin. Distinguished experts, including Dr. Vikas Makkar, Prof. & Head, Department of Nephrology, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, and Prof. H.M. Park from Konkuk University, South Korea.
