Vet varsity Organizes Experiential Session on Work Happiness

April 25

A highly engaging and insightful session on “Work Happiness” was organized at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. The event focused on fostering a positive work culture while highlighting the critical importance of happiness in enhancing productivity, creativity, and overall workplace well-being. Dr. R. S. Sethi, Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology and Director, Veterinary and Livestock Innovation and Incubation Foundation (VLIIF), informed that the event marked the first-of-its-kind initiative in the University focusing specifically on work happiness. Faculty members and staff from the university actively participated in the session.
Dr. R. S. Aulakh, Director Students' Welfare who graced the event as the Chief Guest, emphasized that the meaning of happiness varies from person to person and should be sustainable, purposeful, and deeply rooted, rather than short-lived. He underscored the need for institutions to create enabling environments that support long-term emotional well-being and satisfaction.
The keynote session was conducted by Dr. Arun Bharadwaj, Chief Happiness Engineer and Excellence Mentor, who delivered an experiential and highly interactive session. Through engaging activities and real-life reflections, he enabled participants to internalize the concept of work happiness. Participants participated with full zeal and enthusiasm, making the session lively, reflective, and impactful. He further highlighted how work happiness improves engagement, reduces stress, strengthens teamwork, and contributes significantly to organizational excellence.
Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the organizers for this innovative initiative, appreciating the efforts to prioritize emotional well-being within the academic ecosystem. He remarked that such programs are essential for nurturing a positive institutional culture and encouraged the continuation of similar initiatives to strengthen motivation, collaboration, and overall performance across the university. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Varinder Uppal, Director, Human Resource Management Centre, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished speakers, organizers, and participants for making the event a grand success.
