Vet Varsity NSS Wing Celebrates Yoga Day and Cleanliness Drive

The NSS Wing of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, celebrated Yoga Day and organized a Cleanliness Drive. 
The programme commenced with enthusiastic participation from NSS Programme Officers and NSS Volunteers. The event aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle through yoga and fostering social responsibility through environmental cleanliness. 
Mr. Ranjit Singh, Yoga Instructor from Himalayan Yoga Institute, was the resource person for the occasion. He highlighted the significance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being and emotional balance. 
Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor, encouraged students to adopt yoga as a way of life and continue participating in community service initiatives for the betterment of society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. R.S. Aulakh, Director Students’ Welfare, appreciated the efforts of the NSS Wing in organizing activities that contribute to the holistic development of students and promote social and environmental consciousness. 
Dr. Nidhi Sharma, NSS Programme Coordinator informed that participants were guided through various yogic postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques, emphasizing the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life. 
After the yoga session, NSS volunteers actively participated in a cleanliness drive in and around the Veterinary Clinical Complex. The volunteers undertook cleaning activities and carried out choona/kali work near the Veterinary Clinics to promote cleanliness and hygiene on the campus. The cleanliness drive was coordinated with the support of Dr. Raj Sukhbir, Director, Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC) and Sh Aman Singh, University Painter who assisted the NSS volunteers in carrying out the activities effectively. 
The programme witnessed participation from NSS Programme Officers, namely Dr. S.S. Hassan, College of Fisheries, Dr. Narender Kumar, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology and Dr. Vishal Sharma, College of Animal Biotechnology, who ensured active participation of NSS volunteers.
