
Bringing international recognition to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, Dr. Shruti Chopra
, represented India at the prestigious 29th Annual Conference on Global Economic Analysis, organized by the Center for Global Trade Analysis, Purdue University, USA, under the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP), in collaboration with Kyoto University, Japan. The conference was held in Kyoto, Japan.
The internationally acclaimed conference brought together leading economists, policymakers, researchers, and academicians from across the globe to deliberate on emerging issues in global trade, economic modelling, public policy, and sustainable development, providing a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas and showcasing cutting-edge research.
Dr. Chopra presented her research paper titled “Macroeconomic and Welfare Effects of Livestock-Sector Interventions: A CGE Approach.” The study employed an advanced Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) framework to assess the economy-wide impacts of livestock-sector interventions on growth, welfare, and rural development. The research received appreciation from international participants for its policy relevance and contribution to sustainable livestock development.
Dr. Chopra’s participation was
cushioned by financial support received under the International Travel Support Scheme of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, GOI and assistance from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) under the Ministry of Education, GOI. She also acknowledged the academic support and guidance received from the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).
