Vet Varsity Organizes Awareness Session on E-Sanad Portal

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, organized an awareness and training session on the E-Sanad Portal, an initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), GoI, for the online attestation and apostille of educational and other documents intended for use abroad.
A four-member technical delegation of National Informatics Centre (NIC) Punjab comprising Sh. Sarvesh Verma, Senior Director (IT), Sh. Sanjeev Kumar, Director (IT), Ms. Kirti Mahajan, Director (IT) and Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Assistant Director-cum-State Nodal Officer (E-Sanad), Department of Higher Education, Punjab, visited the University to conduct a technical orientation on the E-Sanad Portal. The team demonstrated the portal's end-to-end digital workflow, covering user registration, online document submission, digital verification, attestation/apostille processes, and real-time application tracking, while addressing participants' technical and procedural queries. The programme was organized by the Office of the Registrar with technical support from the University Library under the guidance of Dr. Nirmal Singh, Librarian.
Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the NIC team and stressed that the implementation of the E-Sanad Portal would significantly streamline the attestation and apostille of students' documents for international use. This portal makes the legalization process faster, more secure, and highly transparent for the University students.
Dr. S. K. Uppal, Dean, Postgraduate Studies; Dr. S. S. Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana; Dr. S. P. S. Ghuman, Dean, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology; Dr. R. S. Sethi, Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology; and Dr. V. Uppal, Director, Human Resource Management Centre, also graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S. N. Datta, University Nodal Officer for the E-Sanad Portal, highlighted that the objective of the training was to familiarize students, faculty members, and administrative staff with the features, benefits, and practical applications of the E-Sanad Portal.
Dr. Opinder Singh, Registrar emphasized that the adoption of digital governance initiatives such as the E-Sanad Portal reflects the University's commitment to providing efficient, transparent, and student-centric services. He encouraged students to make effective use of the portal for hassle-free document authentication.
