articipation of students, faculty members and sta
ff. The week-long programme was conducted with an aim to create awareness about the harmful consequences of ragging and to reinforce the college’s commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, inclusive and ragging-free academic environment.
As part of the observance, several awareness and literary events were organized by Dr. O.P. Choudhary, Professor and Nodal Officer, Anti-Ragging Cell, with the event coordinators Dr. Chetna Mahajan, Dr. Priyanka Choudhary, Dr. Afroz Jahan, Dr. Swati Agrawal, Dr. Amit Dhatterwal, Dr. Shweta, Dr. Gitesh Saini and Dr, Nitin Sharma, Assistant Professors of the college. Competitions, including poster-making, elocution, slogan writing, and essay writing, were conducted with enthusiastic participation from students. Through these activities, students highlighted the physical, psychological, social and academic consequences of ragging and conveyed strong messages promoting
friendship, mutual respect, dignity and harmonious relationships among students.
Students were sensitized about the legal provisions, institutional guidelines and responsibilities related to the prevention of ragging. Faculty members of the college encouraged the students to maintain healthy interactions between senior and junior students and emphasized that every student has the right to study in a safe and supportive environment. The importance of reporting any incident or apprehension related to ragging to the appropriate college authorities was also
highlighted. The college administration reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and emphasized that any form of ragging, whether direct or indirect, would invite strict action as per the applicable rules and regulations.
The successful organization of Anti-Ragging Week was appreciated by the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul, who lauded the students and faculty members for their enthusiastic participation and efforts towards promoting a positive campus culture. Dr. Jaspal Singh Hundal, Director, Students' Welfare, congratulated the Nodal Officer and his team on organizing the Anti-Ragging Week. This initiative is commendable, as it aims to create a
campus free of ragging and foster a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, also appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe, respectful and harmonious learning environment for all students. The programme concluded with a collective commitment to maintaining a ragging-free campus and fostering an atmosphere conducive to academic excellence, professional development and overall student well-being.
