Vet Varsity Gets 26 lakh National Grant for 3D Museum and Innovative Veterinary Education

The Centre for One Health at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has received a research grant of 26 lakh from the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology. The project aims to use 3D printing technology to improve awareness and understanding of animal husbandry and veterinary science. As part of the project, a 3D museum will be established to provide simple and practical learning experiences for livestock farmers, veterinary students and the general public. The project will include the development of 3D-printed models, educational games and teaching tools. These resources will help people understand animal health, disease prevention, animal care and modern livestock farming through clear visual demonstrations. 
The project team includes Dr Rajnish Sharma as the Principal Investigator and Dr Nirmal Singh, Dr Jaswinder Singh, Mr. Dhiraj Kumar and Dr Deepali as Co-Principal Investigators. Their work will focus on making veterinary education more practical, interesting and easy to understand.
Dr J.P.S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor of the University, congratulated the research team for receiving the grant. He appreciated their efforts to introduce innovative technology into veterinary education and public outreach. It will also strengthen the connection between modern technology, education and practical animal care.
Dr J.S. Bedi, Director of the Centre for One Health, welcomed the project and said that it would help to reduce the gap between classroom knowledge and its practical use in the field. He highlighted the importance of using modern technology to improve learning and community awareness. 
Dr. S.S. Randhawa, Director of Research said that the project is expected to benefit farmers, students and the wider community by making important information about animal health and livestock management easier to learn and apply.
