ction Programme on Scientific Dairy Farming at its adopted village Dulwan Khadri on 9 September 2026. A team of experts from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, also participated in the programme and interacted with the dairy farmers.
The programme aimed to enhance farmer’s technical knowledge and promote the adoption of scientific practices for improving dairy animal health, productivity, feeding, management, and profitability. During the programme, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Professor & Joint Director, RRTC, Talwara, delivered an informative lecture on home-based treatment and management of common diseases of dairy animals, highlighting practical measures that farmers can adopt for early care and management of their animals. Dr. Balbir Singh Khadda, Associate Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S Nagar, delivered a lecture on balanced ration formulation for dairy animals. He emphasized the importance of providing animals with a nutritionally balanced diet according to their age, physiological status, and production level for maintaining health and improving milk production. Technology, delivered a lecture on value addition of milk and dairy products, explaining the importance of processing and value addition for enhancing farmers income and creating additional opportunities for dairy-based entrepreneurship. Dr. Kulwinder, Assistant Professor, Department of Livestock Production Management, delivered a lecture on general management of dairy animals. He discussed important aspects of scientific dairy farming, including proper housing, feeding, breeding, cleanliness, health care, and overall herd management.
